From this page you can access WebCALIS, a program developed by
the Humanities Computing Laboratory of
Durham, North Carolina, and made available for use by students
and faculty of Northern Kentucky University as a courtesy
by this organization. CALIS is an acronym for
Computer-Assisted Language Instruction System. Spellmarking
for this program was implemented by NKU computer science and
math major
Keefe Roedersheimer during an on-line internship with the
Humanities Computing
Laboratory. Additional features were implemented by NKU computer science and
math majors Rusty Meyers and Tim Meyers. Tim Meyers implemented the transition from MS Access to MySQL for the records database for this program, and computer science major Jason Daniels designed the interface that allows students to view their grades at http://nathan.nku.edu/students.htm. The use of NKU student programmers in this project
was made possible by a grant
from the Humanities
Computing Laboratory and by matching funds from
NKU's Office of
Research, Grants, and Contracts.
