WebCALIS employs the following color-based feedback codes:

An asterisk (*) indicates a missing letter.

Letter(s) that appear in red should be deleted.

Letter(s) that appear in orange should be replaced.

Letter(s) that appear in blue should be reversed.

Letter(s) that appear in green involve errors in capitalization.

Punctuation errors are marked in purple.

Unfortunately, WebCALIS is still an experimental program.  It locks up if you try to do the same exercise two times in a row.  Each time the program locks up for whatever reason, you should first try pressing F-6 to see the correct answer.  If this solution doesn't work, you should exit your browser, restart it, and restart WebCALIS.

To begin an exercise, click on FILE, then use the arrows to highlight an exercise, and click on OK. Remember that you must place your mouse in the Answer Box at the bottom of the screen and backspace over the words "Answer Box" to type an answer.

After you type an answer, press the ENTER key to find out if it is correct. Then press the SPACE bar to return to the Answer Field to answer the next question.
